The city of Ujjain is located on the banks of the Kshipra River in Madhya Pradesh, is one of the most ancient Indian cities. Ujjain is home to one of Lord Shiva’s 12 Jyotirlingas and also happens to be one of the Saptapuris (seven Sacred Hindus Cities that are believed to grant Moksha). Also Ujjain plays host to the Kumbh mela once every 12 years. Today, Ujjain is one of the marked holiest places in India attracting pilgrims from all over.
Mahakaleshwar temple is Ujjain's primary tourist attraction. It is dedicated to one of the twelve Shiva jyotirlingas and is visited by several devotees. Ujjain also has some other beautiful obsolete places to visit like the Kal Bhairav and the Harsiddhi temple.
One of the holiest of Hindu cities, Ujjain has a plethora of temples that are spread all over the town. The most notable are the Bhaironath (the liquor drinking deity) temple, Mangalnath temple, Chintaman Ganesh, Har Siddhi Mata, Gopal Mandir, a Krishna temple.
While Mahakal is undoubtedly the presiding deity of Ujjain, the other gods of the Hindu pantheon are also well represented in the hundreds of other temples all over the town. One of the major attractions of the town is the Bhasma Aarti held every dawn at the Mahakal temple.

Ram Ghat holds an evening aarti on the banks of river Shipra. You can take a dip in the water, sing prayers and enjoy the sight of amber glowing lamps. During Kumbh Mela, the site gets even more visitors.

Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In fact it is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are supposed to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva.

Shri Harsiddhi Temple is one of the ancient places of India and it is the 13th Shaktipeeth among the 51 Shakti Peethas of Mata Sati situated in the city of Ujjain.Built during the Maratha Period, the temple enshrines a famous vermilion-painted image of goddess Annapurna.

6. Kaliadeh Palace
